I also sold my home myself back in 2001. I got an actual book from the library and at first I thought the author was nuts, but no, after I started doing everything she said, it was incredible. One example of how picky: turn everything in your refrigerator with label forward, shorter in front, and not too much stuff. Sure enough, the couple who wanted to see my place immediately after the local newspaper with my ad came out, they asked to see the kitchen again after the walk-through. When I opened the refrigerator, it was like you could feel a ray of light coming down from heaven and a choir singing. 😂 They bought. First people. I would have had backups from the open house but I didn’t need. Declutter declutter declutter. Upgrade every single thing that has ever bothered you or you wished was nicer. Rent a small storage unit if you have to, to have the place looking like a magazine spread. I am not kidding.
